STEAM with Magic Treehouse

Using the Magic Tree House series, children in grades K-2 will explore science as seen through the eyes of Jack and Annie as they travel through the books that they find.  In this 15 week course they will learn the answers to questions like: What causes seasons? Why are snowflakes white? How is the soil different where it never gets warm? What causes floods, and how can they both help and harm the land? How do inventors use engineering to solve problems, and what makes a structure strong enough to create the Eiffel Tower? Use math to solve puzzles and uncover clues, and travel through books and time with Jack and Annie!

Dungeons & Dragons

Our Dungeons & Dragons course is the perfect opportunity for tweens and young teens (ages 11-up) to learn the ins and outs of the world's most popular tabletop roleplaying game! Each participant takes on the role of a unique character in a cooperative storytelling adventure, with decisions and dice rolls determining outcomes.

With support from Curse, an online toolkit for Dungeons and Dragons, participants will have access to online resources and will be led through gameplay with one of our friendly Dungeon Masters. All participants go home with their own dice set!

This course will meet for twelve 1 hour sessions.

Science Club

In this fun, multi-age science club, Students in grades K-2 will explore a variety of different science topics. Each weekly one hour meetng allows students to explore a new science topic and is paired with a fun, hands-on activity.

Eco Explorers Club

In this new club, young scientists in grades K-2 will explore all kinds of ecosystems! Each week, students will participate in hands-on activities and games as they learn about different ecosystems: coral reefs, taigas, grasslands, savannahs, and freshwater wetlands. Students will learn about terrain, habitats, and how plants and animals are sustained by their environments; we may even get to enjoy a critter encounter or two!

Pixel Art Club

Artists and designers in grades 3-5 can stretch their imaginations in this pixel perfect art club! Students will be using both digital and hands-on tools to create pixelated and retro art. They will also be getting creative and square while learning to utilize tools that will animate their pixel art.

Intro to Robotics- Club

This beginning level robotics course is intended for students in 3rd-5th grade. This is our non-competition, casual robotics club. Students will learn about robotics in ninety minute weekly classes using LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Core Set. This STEM program engages students by providing the resources to design, build, and program their creations while helping them develop essential skills such as creativity, critical-thinking, collaboration, and communication.
