GSES Survivor!

with Samantha Richard

Do you have what it takes to survive? What's the best way to get information when you can't use cell phones or the internet? How do you cook without electricity? How can you use what you know about science to protect yourself from extremes of heat and cold and keep yourself healthy and comfortable? What kind of technology is available to help people affected by natural disasters?

In this course, 3rd-5th grade students will be introduced to a variety of survival skills! Fun hands-on activities and games each day will help campers learn how to become survivors!

It’s never too early to discover STEM. FIRST LEGO League Jr. is designed to introduce STEM concepts to kids ages 6 to 10 while exciting them through LEGO!

Guided by adult coaches and FIRST LEGO League Jr. Core Values, students build models using LEGO® Education WeDo and create Show Me posters to present what they learned. The program focuses on building interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through a real-world challenge – to be solved by research, critical thinking, and imagination. This year's challenge: BOOMTOWN BUILD

Note that the FLL Jr. Team is expected to participate in an Expo on April 4th at the VBC.
