WeDo Robotics Camp

This robotics course is intended for campers in kindergarten through rising third graders. In this casual robotics class for young learners, campers will learn using LEGO WeDo Robotics. Hands-on projects will ignite students’ curiosity, while enhancing their skills in science, engineering, technology, and coding. Sessions I and II will feature different robot builds.

Snack is included. Campers registered for both morning and afternoon camp sessions should bring a sack lunch, and will receive lunch supervision at no additional cost.

 

Newtonian Telescope Camp

Project Night Sky presents this special camp session for Space Week. Newtonian Camp introduces high school campers in grades 8-12 to an appreciation of celestial bodies through learning about the history of the telescope. Throughout the week, teen astronomers will learn about stargazing and make their own telescope!

Project Night Sky is an independent initiative to encourage and promote the study and practice of astronomy, and contribute to scientific observations.

This class has an additional $15 material fee.

Snack is included. Campers registered for both morning and afternoon camp sessions should bring a sack lunch, and will receive lunch supervision at no additional cost.

 

Pokémon Economics Camp

In this camp, campers in grades 6-8 will learn about economic concepts through an analysis of the online Pokémon card game and its player driven market system. Concepts such as fiat currency, supply & demand, market equilibrium, opportunity costs, and trade will be discussed by the class as they observe trends in the game economy over time.

Snack is included. Campers registered for both morning and afternoon camp sessions should bring a sack lunch, and will receive lunch supervision at no additional cost.

 

AMT Boot Camp

This camp is the definitive makerspace primer for students in grades 6+. Students will learn about equipment in our Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) shop, such as our laser cutters and 3D printers. Students will also be introduced to the software used to create designs for these machines. Topics explored include vector graphics, 3D modeling basics, materials options, and design principles.

Snack is included. Campers registered for both morning and afternoon camp sessions should bring a sack lunch and will receive lunch supervision at no additional cost.
