Art and Science of Harry Potter

Calling all aspiring Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws, Slytherins, and Gryffindors ages 9-13! If you’ve been waiting for your Hogwarts letter, you’re in luck! In this program, campers will explore the science and art of the wonderful world of Harry Potter. Explore the psychology behind the sorting hat, experiment with the chemistry of potions, design your own wand, and more!

This class includes an additional $15.00 materials fee. Snack is included. Campers registered for both morning and afternoon camp sessions should bring a sack lunch, and will receive lunch supervision at no additional cost.

 

Camp Galileo

Project Night Sky presents this special camp session in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Lunar Landing. Camp Galileo introduces campers ages 8-12 to an appreciation of celestial bodies through learning about the history of the telescope. Throughout the week, young astronomers learn about stargazing and make their own telescope!

Project Night Sky is an independent initiative to encourage and promote the study and practice of astronomy, and contribute to scientific observations.

This class has an additional $15 material fee. Snack is included. Campers registered for both morning and afternoon camp sessions should bring a sack lunch, and will receive lunch supervision at no additional cost.

 

Castles and Catapults

Are you a young Knight or Dame that loves castles, catapults, knights, and dragons? In this camp for kids 8-12, you’ll get to engage in all kinds of cool activities as you learn about medieval technology, ballistics, castles, mythology, and more! You’ll dabble in early engineering, medieval ballistics, applied mathematics, and possibly try your hand at prop-making by crafting your own sword and shield!

Includes a $15.00 materials fee. Snack is included. Campers registered for both morning and afternoon camp sessions should bring a sack lunch, and will receive lunch supervision at no additional cost.

 

Create a Planet

Our popular “Create a Planet” camp is being offered this year in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Lunar Landing! In this camp, students ages 8-12 will engage in world building activities, learn about exoplanets and biomes, and use a combination of both scientific knowledge and speculative creativity to create their own planet!

This class has an additional $15 material fee. Snack is included. Campers registered for both morning and afternoon camp sessions should bring a sack lunch, and will receive lunch supervision at no additional cost.

 

CS Unplugged

Calendar Next session starts Jul 22, 2019 at 1 pm, runs for 1 week

In this camp, young campers ages 5-8 will explore computer science without a computer! CS Unplugged teaches campers computer science through engaging games and puzzles that use cards, string, crayons and lots of running around.

This class has an additional $15.00 materials fee. Snack is included. Campers registered for both morning and afternoon camp sessions should bring a sack lunch, and will receive lunch supervision at no additional cost.

 

Dungeons & Dragons

Calendar Next session starts Jun 10, 2019 at 1 pm, runs for 1 week

Our Dungeons & Dragons summer camp is the perfect opportunity for tweens and young teens (ages 11-up) to learn the ins and outs of the world’s most popular tabletop roleplaying game! Each participant takes on the role of a unique character in a cooperative storytelling adventure, with decisions and dice rolls determining outcomes. With support from Curse, participants will have access to “D&D Beyond” online resources and will be led through gameplay with one of our friendly Dungeon Masters. All participants go home with their own dice set!

Snack is included. Campers registered for both morning and afternoon camp sessions should bring a sack lunch, and will receive lunch supervision at no additional cost.

 

Eco Explorers

Calendar Next session starts Jun 24, 2019 at 1 pm, runs for 1 week

In this brand new camp, young students in grades K-2 will explore all kinds of ecosystems! Each day, kids will participate in hands-on activities and games as they learn about different ecosystems: Aquatic, Desert, Tundra, and Tropical Rainforest and Temperate Forest. 

Campers will learn about terrain, habitats, how plants and animals are sustained by their environments. Campers may even get to enjoy a critter encounter or two!

This camp includes a $15 materials fee. Campers registering for both a morning and afternoon program are invited to remain for lunch supervision at no extra charge. Such students should bring a sack lunch. Snacks are provided during camp, but students are invited to bring their own snacks to meet their personal dietary restrictions if necessary.

Elementary Electronics

Calendar Next session starts Jun 17, 2019 at 1 pm, runs for 1 week

In this camp, students ages 8-12 wield the power of electronics with hands-on projects that break down complex technologies into modular components so they can experiment, build, prototype, and invent. Students will use Little Bits educational electronics kits to learn, as well as some homespun projects using items such as conductive dough and and by 'hacking' familiar household items.

This class has an additional $15 class materials fee. Snack is included. Campers registered for both morning and afternoon camp sessions should bring a sack lunch, and will receive lunch supervision at no additional cost.
