AMT Boot Camp

In this afternoon teen program, students will learn the basics of our AMT (Advanced Manufacturing Technology) workshop. They will learn the basics of relvant software in our Design Studio, and then use our equipment to cut, 3-D print, and finish their creations. Students who complete this camp qualify to purchase their own independent AMT membership if they choose, allowing them to reserve their own machine time independent from family memberships. This program is priced to include a $10 materials fee.  Minimum age for this program is 12.

Electronics

In this upper elementary camp, kids receive introductory lessons in electronics with activities such as making a chemical battery, lighting up an LED, playing with snap circuits, and even making and taking home their own Operation-style electronic game! This class is priced to include a $10 materials fee.

Escape Room Madness

In this program, teens will work with an Escape Room expert to learn how escape rooms are designed, and work together to design one of their very own! Once complete, campers will invite the upper elementary campers to try to see if they can escape.

Participants in this camp will also get an exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming Huntsville SCREAM Works Paranormal Invesigation event, by helping us pilot our own game design with testing and feedback. 

Minimum age: 12. Middle schoolers 12 or under are invited to enroll in "Puzzles & Games for Young Detectives" instead.

Students ages 9-14 are invited to join us to gear up for the 2018/2019 FIRST LEGO League Season. The theme has been repleased! "Into Orbit" and Huntsville couldn't be a better place to get into the spirit of the season. During our Pre-Season camp, seasoned competitors and rookies alike can gear up for the season, brush up on their Mindstorms skills, and learn about everything else that goes into being a successful member of a FIRST Lego League Robotics Team!

Mystery Squad

A small group of lower elementary sleuthers will join up in a fictious detective agency to solve a different mystery each day of this Mystery Week Camp. Inspired by table-top roleplaying games, each participant will create their own fictional mystery-genre character with attributes and traits that will enable them to work cooperatively with their fellow campers to solve the mystery of the day.

Puzzles & Games for Young Detectives

Think you're so smart? Prove it! Campers in this program will explore various puzzles and games that test their wit, observation, and deductive reasoning. In addition to various puzzles and games, upper elementary students will learn a little about the psychology of self-dellusion, and play the role of detective in daily mysteries. At the end of the week, they'll even attempt to solve an escape room designed by teen campers!

Python Programming with Minecraft

Campers will learn how to code using Python, a programming language favored among many programmers in the current industry. However, unlike a traditional coding class these students will learn how to code within the popular game Minecraft in order to add to and manipulate the game! This introductory class is appropriate for campers from upper elementary through early high school who have little to no experience with Python.

Science Mysteries

In this upper elementary camp, students will explore various science mysteries. They will learn and discuss "Weird, But True" science fun facts, conduct strange experiments, and even exercise their creativity with some peculiar science projects, such as photosensitive art. This class is priced to reflect a $10 materials fee.
